Zach of Cast Iron Coding writes “An Honest Look at Why We Use TYPO3“. It’s a long article, but very note worthy.
Despite its flaws, its warts, and its internal inconsistencies, we keep using it because in the end, its capabilities outweigh those flaws every time. More important, perhaps, than anything I’ve mentioned so far, the TYPO3 community pushes us to learn more and to become better developers.
No matter what we do in life, we need to give it an honest look once in a while to decide if it’s the right choice.
TYPO3 isn’t a good fit for simpler like this one, hence WordPress. However, for complex sites with global branding, multiple authors, multiple domains, third-party integrations and other large and enterprise level requirements, it’s the only true open source choice.
Thank you Zach for sharing.
Merry Christmas everyone. I’m off to Füssen tomorrow for a snowy, Bavarian Christmas with friends.
