Make Open Camps Photography Possible
Open Camps, the world's largest mission-driven Open Source conference, is coming to the United Nations in New York City July 8-17, 2016. If you're a photographer of any kind, come help the Open Camps photography team immortalize 6,000+ attendees during 25+ Open Camp events.
With 400+ sessions being featured and far too many birds of a feather flocking to count, Open Camps is centered on dozens of Open Source Software (OSS) technologies and our team is looking for over a dozen volunteers to cover all, some, or none of the events.
What do you mean none?
If event photography isn’t your thing, you may volunteer to moderate uploaded images in the Open Camps 2016 Flickr Group or help with social media promotions.
In being an Open Camps photographer, you get to capture the event in your own style. There will only be a few guiding photography principles to follow, like respect the privacy of our non-public types. This level of event access is just like being a root user, but without the insane option of `rm -rf *`.
That’s right photographers
you’re invited to the United Nations!
If you're interested in joining the team, please apply with Open Camps. While Open Camps can feed you during your on-site event attendance, we're unable to provide free transportation or lodging. However, there's discounted accommodations nearby.
The Open Camps photography team is being led by myself, Michael Cannon, Axelerant's COO. So far in 2016, I've lead photography teams in Mumbai, Singapore, and New Orleans. Recently, I've kicked off the Open Camps 2016 Photo Team Guide and written the Guide to Open Source Photography.
