Its sites — which include and — generate more than seven million visits a month. Engaging, non-political, and easy-to-understand, MNN is designed for a mainstream audience. MNN content goes well beyond traditional “green” issues — encompassing a broad range of news and sustainable living topics — including family, health, home, safety, technology, community involvement and personal finance.

From those early beginnings, Axelerant took 4 years of Drupal 6 site development work with over 150 modules and content blocks and migrated them into Drupal 7 custom builds using the migrate d2d framework. The entire migration was completed in a short 4-month timeline.

As a start-up in 2009, Mother Nature Network was faced with needing to make Joel and Chuck’s vision a reality and fundamentally change the business model for how environmental news was being delivered on the web. MNN required to launch a new concept and set up short iteration cycles for development to quickly improve and gain market share and traction in the community. They were looking for a team that would work to translate the vision into a functional website for staff to publish news and appealing to a broad audience across the world.
