Axelerant is officially a great place to work. 😱

Written by Rohit Ganguly, Content Marketer | Apr 12, 2024 6:11:55 AM

Hey, Friend.

Look around and see if you’re being watched. 👀

No?

Okay. We’re good. 🏄

Something huge went down.

Yes, the rumors are true.😵‍💫

Axelerant is officially a great place to work. 😱

According to whom?

According to the Great Place To Work organization.

They literally determine just that—which workplaces are great. 😛

And they left no stones unturned, even covertly contacting team members, to cross-check if Axelerant was as great as people say. 🤐

Sr. Marketing Program Lead Sharayu Thakare handled the months-long process, which meant running behind a lot of people for a long, long time.

For her, “sprints” now have a whole new meaning. 🧗🏼‍♀️

So, what does this greatness mean? Their website states:

The definition of a great workplace is one where employees trust the people they work for, have pride in what they do, and enjoy the people they work with.

So, you all should trust me more with confidential info.

Some of us are going to Bangkok. 🛩️

For WordCamp Asia 2023—the first WordCamp to be held in Asia between February 17 and 19, 2023.

WordCamps are volunteer-organized conferences for WordPress enthusiasts.

And Project Manager Kartik Shukla is one such volunteer who’s attending the camp from Axelerant.

Saurabh Dixit, Ritesh Tailor, and Kedarnath Kare are also going to be attending the event.

So, if you’re interested in WordPress—and having fun—tag along. 🥂

When will the drama end? 🥲

Quite possibly, never.

What am I on about?

The Drama Triangle Model by Stephen Karpman.

According to this model, we typically switch between three types of roles in daily life:

  • The hero, or the “rescuer”  💪
  • The victim 😿
  • The bully, or the “persecutor” 👿

Sometimes we dip our toes in multiple roles of the triangle, simultaneously.

How geometrically dramatic. 😆

Here’s the rub: we don’t even realize that we play these roles, because we’ve been doing it all our lives!

But fret not, fellow spy. 🤝

Axelerant Performance Coach Nanditha Krishnan is going to shed light on how these roles affect our life in her next learn session.

So, if you’re interested in reducing the drama, you should join in.

Reach out to me before February 22, 2023, and I’ll hook you up.

You better watch out. You might be next. 🕸️

No, you’re not losing your job.

I was just being over dramatic in the spirit of our upcoming session.

No, but seriously, though. People have been getting weird messages on WhatsApp.😬

Apparently, people are impersonating Axelerant CEO Ankur Gupta (maybe others as well) and texting team members.

It’s weird. Know why? Because they are especially infatuated with gift cards.👇🏻

I do suppose cars, houses, money, secret documents and the like are too cumbersome to cheat people out of. 🙁

Anyway, my point is: beware

If a text smells fishy, there’s probably a smelly fish on the other side of the screen looking for—gift cards?

You know what makes an organization really great?

Radical candor.

Radical candor from your colleagues, your manager, and just everyone around you.

Because it can only happen when people care deeply about your growth.🌳

And they don’t shy away from showing that care. Through critical feedback and genuine support.✅

Not to pull you apart. No. But to build you up.

That distinction—in one’s intention—makes all the difference. 💛

And from what I’ve seen, through incessant eavesdropping and spy work here: these people really care about each others’ growth and wellbeing.

And I think that matters more than any title ever can. 🙂

How do you have a productive off-site? 👓

Axelerant Directors Hetal Mistry and Hussain Abbas know.

They asked team members to list out their problems and suggestions before meeting in the Jaipur off-site.

People unbundled every problem they could think of. 🌪️

And guess what awaited them in the Jaipur hotel conference room?

All of their problems, on neat little whiteboards.

And Hussain and Hetal, smiling. 🥸

The team members formed groups and came up with solutions to their own problems!

And even decided who's going to take care of what. 👌

Perfect demonstration of, “Of the people, by the people, for the people.” 🔥

Bonus, bonus in the air, send us people over here. 😇

What’s new and exciting?

They have upped the ante from the previous two percent bonus for referrals.

Refer people between February 15 and June 15, 2023 to earn a referral bonus equalling 5% of their annual fixed salary (once they complete 120 days).

Here are a list of roles that you can refer for:

“At least someone should get paid,” said the underpaid spy, who risks his life more than Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible 6.

You wouldn’t get it, Tom.

Over and out. 🌚 🌝 🫥
